Primarily, Lara's style is practical due to her occupation, and mainly clothes bought from the cheapest of high street shops due to how often they're torn and irrepairable. Favouring trousers to skirts and dresses, when home she can usually be found in jeans and tank tops, along with a hoodie under her favourite leather jacket. When she does need to dress formally, she prefers to wear light-weight clothes, loose rather than form fitting, shape given by her waist being cinched with a belt, rather than dresses possessing fitted structure. Her hair is usually up in a ponytail or a plait, so as to keep it away from her face, but otherwise worn down when relaxing at home.

BIOGRAPHY.

Born the only child of Lord and Lady Croft, Lara's childhood, and indeed the majority of her time growing up, was one of both neglect and love, one to prove the two concepts were not mutually exclusive, particularly after the death of her mother. With her father then often overseas for his work, work mocked by most and revered by a select few, Lara often sought solace in her books, these being what initially fueled her lust for adventure, rather than the desire to follow in her parents' footsteps.

Discredited by the theories Richard Croft tried so desperately to prove, this being the existence of the paranormal and supernatural through his archaeological work, Richard was mocked by the media, which was believed to be what drove him to suicide, and for Lara to find his body in his study. Now an orphan, Lara was left in the charge of her father's friend, Conrad Roth. Though Roth's own job meant he too had to be away from home a lot of the time, the two shared a surrogate father-daughter bond that lasted until his death. It is from him she learnt many of her survival skills, and her particularly grounded nature.

The continuous neglect left Lara to grow into something of an introvert, though never anything but level-headed and down-to-earth, primarily due to Roth's upbringing, leading her to attend University College London on her own merit and by her own funds, rather than attending Cambridge like she could have done. Refusing to dip into her parents' fortune, into her inheritance, she instead insisted upon paying her tuition and herself, meaning she had to work numerous jobs on top of her studies.

Lara met Samantha Nishimura shortly after starting UCL, and though initially taken aback by the woman's outgoing personality, the two eventually became best friends, Sam's free spirit and wild streak encouraging Lara to relax, to come out of her shell, and to not simply sit quietly waiting for something to happen.

It was with Samantha and Roth, along with the rest of the Endurance crew, that Lara went on her first expedition in search of the lost Japanese kingdom of Yamatai, within the Dragon's Triangle, home of the 'Sun Queen' Himiko. The expedition, however, goes horribly awry when the ship is struck by a violent storm, split in two, leaving Lara stranded from the rest of the group.

Here, in Yamatai, is where Lara finally discovers her father's theories were correct when, upon trying to rescue the rest of her crew, survive the island's inhabitants, and leave Yamatai. Upon finally embarking on the journey home, wracked with survivor's guilt after the death of Roth and Alex, she vows to complete her parents' work and restore their reputation, sacrificing her own in the process.
